There is one discount, however, that is the most amazing, beautiful, wonderful thing that I have ever laid eyes on. It is the student discount on Adobe CS4. It went unknown to me for such a long time... (excuse me, I am overcome with emotion).
My mother informed me that there is, in fact, a discount on CS4 for students. I rejoiced, especially when she informed me that she would compensated me 2/3 of the price of the programs. I went into the store, expecting to only get Photoshop and nothing else, but emerged with Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, Flash, Fireworks, In Design, and Bridge for $350. When I discovered that CS4 Design Premium came with these things, and was not the normal $1250, I nearly died of happiness. Elated, I ran out onto the campus and called my mother with tears in my eyes.
Did you get it? She asked.
I quivered with anticipation. Yes!
Good. Her words were like music- the whole world had become music! I leapt a twirled and then stopped abruptly when I heard the words, Dont open it until Christmas.
W-what?
Its your Christmas present. Your one present. I expect to see it unopened when you get home. Click, the phone was dead.
And then I realized I was soaking wet, in the rain, and had a final exam in four hours.
Needless to say, I did not open CS4. The fear of the wrath of my mother quelled any temptation I might have for that. I meekly handed it over to her when I returned home, and have not seen it since.
Ive been trying, desperately, not to think about photography. Ive taken a couple hundred pictures since my return, but Im trying not to edit them until Christmas. Instead, Ive taught myself how to knit, and have successfully made two scarves (unsuccessfully I made two other scarves that we wont talk about anymore ).
Also, I am teaching myself how to wire wrap crystals and gems. Some of you may have noticed that I have started posting pictures of some of them (ex: [link] ). I have only wrapped three stones as of now, and had a few failed attempts that I tore apart with wire cutters. Its really fun, and very natural feeling to me.
I have a very huge urge to keep wrapping things and get better, but Im limiting myself because my tools arent very good, I have a limited supply of crystals to wrap, and the wire Im using isnt very good in itself. All I have right now is some faux gold wire and steel wire. Hopefully with Christmas money I can buy some real wire, and some better pliers and wire cutters.
I also dont like the fact that I dont have anything to do with the rocks after I wrap them. If anyone who knows me personally has a stone they would like me to wrap and are willing commission me to do it for cheap so I can pay for the wire, Id love to do it. I need the practice.
Thats about it. Also, I came home tonight to find three really gorgeous bundles of yarn on my pillow that my mom and dad surprised me with.

Don't let my name fool you. I'm not actually an evil warlord that wants you to obey me. I'm actually a corrupt Politician.
If you are taking me too seriously, take these pills. They will make you feel better.
